The Association of the Latvian Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry implements project co-funded by the European Union “Latvian Development Cluster LifeScience.lv – Phase 2″, Project No. 1.2.1.1/2/25/A/001

The Project is implemented in the form of a cooperation network. The cooperation network consists of more than 30 companies, at least one research organisation, and the Association.

The Project is implemented within the following RIS3 priority areas:

• Biomedicine, medical technologies, and pharmaceuticals;
• Photonics, smart materials, technologies, and engineering systems;
• Information and communication technologies.

The activities planned within the Project are aimed at enhancing the prestige of the sector and establishing an appropriate motivation system, developing and operating the cooperation network, and promoting international cooperation and growth in export volumes.

Planned results include an increase in the number of cooperation partners, expansion of sales and product distribution channels, and an increase in the number of new products, including product certification.

The objectives of the cooperation network are to enhance the competitiveness of its members at both national and international levels by fostering a business environment oriented towards growth and innovation.

The main benefits of the Project include direct facilitation of cooperation network members’ access to international markets, strengthening the international competitiveness of the sector, and increasing the sector’s attractiveness among young people. Project activities are focused on the internationalisation of cooperation network members and on increasing the volume of private research and development investments.
